The only rule - "if you don't drum, you have to dance!!"
Imagine an interactive circle of kids, all drumming together, holding a common pulse and weaving a facilitated rhythm into a cohesive musical experience. This is what will occur within your group. All sessions include an informative lesson on the history of the drum, its origins and cultural significance. We will learn the many sounds the drum can make, as well as proper playing techniques.
We will drum, dance, sing and laugh together as we learn to “talk” to each other on the drum. By the end of the session, all participants - young and old, will be smiling, creating their own rhythms, and celebrating their success as individuals, a group, and as a community.
This experience can foster a musical foundation and a sense of self worth to build on for the rest of their lives. We at Giving Tree Music feel this program is not about drumming, but that we use the drums as a vehicle to build community and empower individuals to find their own true voice.
You can expect an interactive teambuilding event that will energize and empower a group of professionals as well as promote a deeper sense of camaraderie.
